Reviews

The Fairmont Pacific Rim has a 4.5 star rating on yelp!

"The lobby downstairs is very comfortable, nice to sit at and I would even recommend to go there with friends or a date... just to sit and talk along with a good wine or drink. The fireplace adds the extra charm to it! :)"

"For my 300th review, I would like to introduce you to this new treasure I have found.... the Lobby Lounge at the Fairmont..... There are tables with comfy chairs in the open space of the Fairmont foyer, an open kitchen in the back, a bakery (Giovane) on the other side, and a beautiful view looking at the extraordinary Vancouver Convention Centre. I walked into this space listening to the wonderful voice of a soulful singer on the grand piano and trying to absorb the beautiful and unique interior of the hotel. There is a fireplace in the middle of the grand lobby, stairs that go upstairs to the ORU restaurant, and upstairs VIP table for the specials and very very cool golden cage-like lamp fixtures (I wish I had photos)."

"The latest and great hotel in Vancouver. I've been at all 3 Fairmont hotels in Vancouver, and the Pacific Rim is by far the nicest at a great value. Hotel Vancouver has old world charm, but Waterfront is just plain old. It is most convenient if you are at the Vancouver Convention Center. They are connected through an underground tunnel, so you never have to go outside in the cold and rain. The Waterfront station even has an access just across the street. Staff and service at all Fairmonts in Vancouver are top rate, but the amenities and style is what separates Pacific Rim from the rest."
- Felix (yelp)

"How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
1. You smell like heaven. Apparently your scent is a closely guarded secret so alas I shall never get to smell like you. So I'll keep coming in and nose breathing till I get light headed.
2. Your staff is so friendly and seem genuinely happy to work there. It shows.
3. Your lobby lounge. I could spend hours and hours just people watching, imbibing your delicious and beautifully prepared cocktails and feeling special and fancy.
4. Your roof pool. I feel like a celebrity when up there.
5. Your rooms are so sumptuous and beautifully decorated and I love your bathtubs. Plus you give away Jo Malone bath stuff.
6. You have concerts in your lobby .
7. You hire very handsome bartenders for these parties.
8. For such a beautiful place, you are not snooty. I love that you are anti-snoot yet make guests and curious walk-in's feel special."

SS Says

10 Reasons to Live it up at The Fairmont Pacific Rim

1. You may have been a King or Queen in a former life. Being treated like one again might be just the memory-jog you need.

2. Despite the high-class atmosphere, The Fairmont is known for its kind, helpful, anti-snobbery staff.

3. Their roof-top pool makes you feel like you’re hanging out inside a billionaire’s dreams.

4. The lobby boasts a 150 foot long sculpture made by origami master Joseph Wu. We learned the hard way not to pull on its ends in hopes of making its wings flap.

5. Despite the amazing attention to detail you’ll witness at “The Carvery,” did we mention that Fairmont somehow also manages to run a five star hotel over there? Check into it! (Literally.)

6. You can buy up to two vouchers for yourself, but there’s no limit to the number of gift vouchers you can get. Bring or send someone special for Valentine’s Day, Mother's Day, Father’s Day, and Hey Go Enjoy An Amazing Meal On Me Day.

7. They should really call it the Fantasticmont. Fair is such an understatement.

8. Bring your people-watching journal—you’ll need to add in some terrific new categories, as Fairmont’s eclectic guests travel far and wide for this kind of service.

9. You’ll be dining next to a $225,000 Italian piano. Try to keep food-fights to a minimum.

10. Last time we offered a deal for The Fairmont Pacific Rim, it sold out entirely in a matter of hours, so make sure to grab this one in the next 5… 4… 3… 2…

You won’t have to deal with this kind of snobbery at The Fairmont (good thing, too! It doesn’t prove to be very good for your health):

I know this is kind of late to ask. I am just wondering if I am unable to use the voucher, will I still be able to get a refund?

Enjoyed this with my husband today and it was wonderful! Wish I had bought more than one voucher, perhaps it will be brought back? The service was also good, can't understand how anyone would complain about an auto-grat, which based on the $39.90 value would only be $6.

I have since been advised by SS that this place automatically adds 15% gratuity to your bill regardless of size of party. This is the policy of the hotel. We were not made aware of this at the time of the offer. I am happy to give the 15% if the service warranted this and if I was made aware of such policy.

I had a wonderful time and was not charged any automatic gratuity, I'm pretty sure, like most restaurants, they only charge that on large groups (6-8 or more). The food and service were great for me both times, glad I bought the max!

Although an excellent deal and the food was quite good, the service really SUCKED (i went twice). the waitresses are only interested in serving you if you order alcohol. the food arrived on the cold side. What's more....they will automatically add 15% gratuity to your bill, based on full value. Let me tell you, these waitresses certainly did not deserve the 15% gratuity and the voucher certainly did NOT indicate the mandatory gratuity. HST was also added, but this was based on the voucher value (i don't have issue with this). For those who have not used their vouchers yet, please be warned.

@Mark - Yes, that's no problem. The merchant will be looking for the unique voucher number so the name is not as important. Thanks for checking! @Emie - You're welcome, hope you enjoy!

@JP & Emie - Glad to hear you two will be working it out. We won't be able to facilitate this as exact exchange because if we refund JP, we have no way of reassigning the vouchers to Emie so what I would suggest is emailing each other to set up an exchange. Thanks!

@Tanny - This deal is good Mon-Fri 11:30am - 2pm. @JP - As noted, this deal has limited quantities available and will sell out today. If you change your mind, I would suggest gifting or selling to someone else as there will be many others who will be unable to purchase this deal once it has sold out. @Lynn - This deal is specifically for "The Carvery". Thanks for checking!
