When someone says they’ll be busy tomorrow because they have something really important to do, it could be anything from buying new wood chips for their hamster cage, to having their bathmats re-dyed. Spend one of the most important days of your life taking us up on today’s SocialShopper deal: $35 for the Level One Occupational First Aid course from the BC Health & Safety Training Institute. It’s technically a $100 value, but even that would sound silly if you save someone’s life with the skills you learn.

Until we develop paramedic robots and position them on every block of every town in the world, the fact remains that “ordinary” people will usually be the first people to help in an emergency. The BC Health & Safety Training Institute is on a mission to give us “ordinary” people some extraordinary abilities. They’re BC’s largest Red Cross training institute, and their instructors have real-world emergency response experience, not just a weekend instructor’s course.

This Level 1 Occupational First Aid course is designed for either the complete first aid newbie, or the returning student looking to refresh their skills and catch up on modern advancements. The term “super hero” is thrown around a lot these days, but stepping up to help in an emergency doesn’t require any supernatural ability. You’ll spend seven hours at BCHSTI’s beautiful Richmond centre, gaining life-saving knowledge and the kind of confidence that comes with knowing you can really help.

8. You can buy and give as many gift vouchers for this deal as you want. Not to suggest that a new pair of Jeggings aren’t of great importance, too...

9. Everyone will find their nerves significantly calmed once they know they can handle some basic medical emergencies.

10. Old school first aid training involved practicing the use of the phrase, "There, there." Come see how far we've come!

Hi, I just purchased 2 vouchers because my husband and I want to take the first aid course. Was this the right thing to do? Or do I need to "gift" the voucher to my husband in order for him to use it?
